NATO convoy is fired in Pakistan

Gunmen attacked 27 trucks carrying food, fuel and equipment for troops in Afghanistan

Gunmen set fire to 27 trucks of NATO in southern Pakistan on Friday. The vehicles carried food, fuel and equipment for the organization of troops in Afghanistan. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
"At least 15 gunmen attacked the trucks with rockets and automatic weapons, and then set fire to 27 vehicles that were parked in Shikarpur district," said Abdul Hameed Joso, local police chief.
The attack happened while the supply trucks were parked in a gas station. The attackers threw several shells loaded with flammable materials at the trucks, causing a fire. Two people have been injured.
"Shikarpur Police established a cordon in the district," said the official coordinating the district, Saeed Ahmed. Insurgent attacks in Pakistan against NATO vehicles are common, usually occur in areas of greatest conflict, near the border with Afghanistan.
Analysts believe the attack may be related to the charge of an operation that NATO has killed three Pakistani soldiers on Thursday. The organization denies the incident, but hours later, in retaliation, Pakistan closed the main area used by NATO to send troops to the material's organization in Afghanistan.
The blocking of the main route used by NATO and by U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan is something rare, and indicates a worsening in the military relationship between Pakistan and the United States.
Isaf (Nato force in Afghanistan) has denied that its helicopters had entered the airspace of Pakistan, and said the incident was being investigated.
Interior Minister of Pakistan, Rehmamn Malik, said the NATO strikes in Pakistan are being taken very seriously. "We will have to consider whether we are allies or enemies," he said.
