Magnitude 4.5 earthquake shook Oklahoma this morning

An earthquake was felt from southern Oklahoma in Tulsa.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 earthquake occurred at 9:06 today in central Oklahoma. Ken Luza, a geologist from the Geological Engineering of Oklahoma in Norman, said people felt the earthquake in Tulsa Norman.

Luza said he has not heard reports of damage.

The epicenter was 6 miles east of Norman, according to the Survey U. S. Geological.

"He came in loud and clear in all our seismic stations, and we check all our equipment," said Randy Keller, director of the Oklahoma Geological Survey.

Rescue teams have asked people not to call 911 unless they are injured or serious damage to report.

Cleveland County Undersheriff Rhett Burnett said people flooded the center of Cleveland County with 911 calls.



"We try to keep people out of 911," said Burnett.

He said he has been a report of damage, but damage is not significant in the eastern part of the province.

He said he had not heard of injuries.

Burnett said he did not yet know exactly where damage was reported....
