Earthquake Strikes Oklahoma


An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred at 9:06 this morning. The epicenter was located 5 miles east of Norman and three miles below the earth's surface.

Both the National Weather Service and U.S. Geological Survey confirmed the event that lasted about 15 seconds.

In particular, the earthquake in Tulsa, Sperry, Oklahoma City, Chickasha and Stillwater was felt areas. Reports indicate that many buildings were shaking caused windows to break.

Emergency teams are only those who are injured or require major damage in the Report on 911 call.

A major fault line across the state, and earthquakes occur frequently. Many of the quakes are too small to be noticed.

Dewey Bartlett told the Mayor of Tulsa, with officials of the Tulsa Area Emergency Management works in the collection of information after the earthquake, reported at 9:06 clock today in Norman, Oklahoma. Oklahoma State has reported the quake in northeastern Oklahoma could be felt.

Fire Chief Allen LaCroix said the impact was minimal and not anticipated damage to underground pipelines or sewer has been in Tulsa. The tests are an unusual odor or sanitary sewer drains are not flowing properly. Tulsa County has reported that there is little or no damage reported in Tulsa.

The State reported that it calls the state Emergency Operations Center residents in Bryan, Caddo, Canadian, Cleveland, Coal, Comanche, Garvin, Johnston, Muskegon, Michigan, Pontotoc, Stephens and Tulsa counties receive. All reports confirm that people felt the earthquake. OEM far received no reports of damage or injuries nationwide.
