Chile Miners Rescue

Chilean Mining Minister Laurence Golborne revealed yesterday that he was extremely happy that the 33 trapped minors where spending their last night together after being confined for 68 days half a mile below ground in a desert in northern Chile- and by the impressive number of journalists on the ground- it looks like the whole world is happy to see these men’s terrible ordeal come to an end.

Chilean President Sebastian Pinera who is also eager to see the much anticipated recovery efforts begin on Wednesday told CNN’s reporters:

The imprisoned workers will be hoisted in an escape capsule also called rescue cage to the surface.

According to Sougarret AndrĂ©, the head of the rescue team – earlier in the week many tests were done where the capsule fell at least four times without experiencing any damages.

The local heroes prepared for their release by taking aspirin to prevent blood clots, and will wear compression stockings, a jacket and swallow a liquid preparation developed by NASA six hours before the big exit to avoid nausea.

After being liberated the minors will not go home to their families -instead be taken to a hospital nearby and kept under strict supervision for 48 hours just to make sure all is well mentally and physically.
