KFOR Commander visited the North

KOSOVO - Kosovo Force Commander, Major-General Erhard Bühler today visited several places in the northern part of Kosovo, to be informed on the situation and developments in this field and to exchange information and views withthe politicians and local leaders.

He began by checking the KFOR multinational battle group in the North, among the soldiers of the French, Greek and Moroccan contingent.

He then proceeded to the village Bistrica / Bistrica, to see members of the Albanian-majority city. He talked with local residents and representatives of the community.

He was informed that the situation is calm and stable.

The visit followed an exchange of information and views with the Secretary of State in the Ministry for Kosovo, Oliver Ivanovic in Leposaviq / C [see previous] press release.


Visit the North ended a meeting with mayors and city leaders from northern Zvecan / Zvecan. At that time, too, views the current security situation were exchanged.

At all meetings, participants agreed that everything must be done to preserve a stable and secure environment and to prevent crime and violence.
